1917
Bethany Academy established located at 14St and NW 4th Avenue, Began with 40 1st -8th grade students tuition was $15 per month.

Bethany Academy was one of 5 schools for black children in Miami-Dade County.

1950s

1956
Bethany Academy moves to new facility in Brownsville Sub on 50th Street and 25th Avenue.

1960s

1963
Bethany Academy becomes a constituent academy and changes name to Union Academy.

1963-65
Dr. Harman Mills Principal.

1965-70
Fitzgerald Jenkins, Principal.

1970s

1970-74
Mr. A.J Lindo, Principal.

1974-80
Mr. Medford Brown, Principal.

1980s

1980
Union Academy outgrows facility with 400 enrolled students and moves to a facility in Allapattah also known as the Mueller building.

1981-84
Mr. Carlyle Miller, Principal.

1984-89
Dr. Rupert Ryan, Principal.

1988
Miami Union Academy moves to Hialeah Gardens, Choir and band tour to North Carolina, Washington D.C. and New York.

During this period Miami Union Academy becomes a K-12 academy graduating its first senior class in 1989. Adding many new programs to academy. Such as: Athletic programs, Ladies of elegance, Knights of Honor, Honor society, Student Government, Pageant, and Youth-to-Youth.

1996
Miami Union Academy begins partnership with Princeton Review for SAT/ACT test preparation.

Senior class goes on Mission trip to Arizona.

First Annual Fundraising Gala 85th year.

State Representative Phillip Brutus, Commencement Speaker.

Governor Charlie Christ, addresses Opportunity Scholarship Recipients and donors at Miami Union Academy.
